  13. that is one huge sea-serpent, he has the most delightful grin, the grin of joy before he causes terror to the wee little people on the ship, that sea-dragon has personality! i love this woodcut print look,

    So, where's Beowulf when a ship's crew needs him?

    Lovely style, like the contrast of the pouchy area under the sea-dragon's jaw and its narrow throat.

    John Gardner wrote that great take on the monster, and am now reading Seamus Heaney's translation of Beowulf to get the story from the hero's POV.

    I guess my ink was burning -- woke up last night with a fever, so am home sick becoming one with Gatorade!
