i've read the first two books and enjoyed them, neverminding the cover.
the third book R.K. says he thinks in the best, and i can say that the art for the third, the cover and the interior art, is the best of the series as well.
as far as technique goes, i just drew it and watercolored it. i worked with it some in photoshop and there you go.
