A...I noticed the small cactus in one of the photos.
A long, long time ago, I had a small cactus. Probablly the size of my thumb. Our VBS that summer was desert themed, that is where I got him. I nursed it along, followed the package instructions... And on hot summer days, I even set him out on our sidewalk, so he could soak up those wonderful rays. I remember being very jealous. I would go over to my friends house, who had recived the same cactus' and their would be growing in leaps and bounds, with blooms on them.
One day, (it was a hot, summer day..) He was soaking up the rays, and I was somewhere outside. We had company. I walked back to the house, and to my utter horror and sadness, he had been kicked over, and crushed violently. I was devasted. It took me quite a long time to overcome my despair. He hadn't grown at all, and I had him at least three years.
The summer before last, I took a ride over to our local greenhouse.
We were cashing out, and there, on the counter...was Carl. He came into my life so suddenly, It seemed as if I had no say in the matter...He came home with me and we have been close friends ever since. My sister, Ruth, would mock my attachment to him. So I thought it only suitable, to give her a similar cactus for her graduation present. I took the liberty of naming it "Carlotta", and placing it next to Carl, so that they could be friends. Carlotta has soft spikes. Carl has hard spikes. In short, I am worried about them both. They have not grown at all. I am afraid they will die. The lady at the greenhouse said to give them "cactus soil". So I asked around as to what cactus soil was. Supposedly, it is a more sandy and rocky soil. But I think I gave them soil that is too rocky. So I am worried. Especially during these winter months.

Thanks for the pictures. They really made me think.Estherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07108861854027410334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15707368.post-1135915546135901172005-12-29T23:05:00.000-05:002005-12-29T23:05:00.000-05:00you are mucho talented and have great taste in ran...you are mucho talented and have great taste in random pics. ;)Courtney Pippin-Mathurhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04606245189094789648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15707368.post-1135742990776340652005-12-27T23:09:00.000-05:002005-12-27T23:09:00.000-05:00Gorgeous work you have here! Can't wait to see what...Gorgeous work you have here!
Can't wait to see what you'll come up with next.TANYA LYONhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18270305157245238032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15707368.post-1135272402151346682005-12-22T12:26:00.000-05:002005-12-22T12:26:00.000-05:00incredible.....wish i will be able to do something...incredible.....
wish i will be able to do something like that sometime.

feliz navidad y próspero año nuevoquinohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04534940266401443293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15707368.post-1135175209482100882005-12-21T09:26:00.000-05:002005-12-21T09:26:00.000-05:00What a great story Cory. Have a safe trip to Erin's and you should have your card and something else when you get back. Look forward to seeing the entire book cover.
