Illustration Friday: "Homage"

Paying homage to one of the greatest, Maurice Sendak. I got to meet him once in NYC. Not something I'll forget. Here's a little watercolored Wild Thing I did some time ago.

  10. So love this, I've read it a million times to my children, nieces and nephews and now grandchildren, and great nephew. I think Mickey in the Milk Kitchen is still one of my favorite illustrated books.

  19. I'll bet he stomps all quiet-like.

You've captured Sendak's lines and colors quite well. Not an easy feat. When I copy stuff I draw them upside down. Otherwise everything looks like me. The human brain is an odd thing.
