SBL: alt. cover

Another shot at the cover, this one approved. Hoping to have it done today.
(Minus the slug and the bug and the gramophone, though. They're going on the back.)

This version features some of the "personalaties" that pop up every once in a while in the interior art.

Illustration Friday: "Opposite" /SBL: variation on a rejected piece

Whatever is underneath that rug is probably the opposite of those kids.

This is one of about 18 pieces for Slugs & Bugs & Lullabies, the new album by Andrew Peterson.

This piece wasn't quite it and I had to do another version, but I still like it.

Fink!: an online portfolio

Friend and esteemed colleague/world taker-over, Annalisa Fink, has a new portfolio, online. The site, www.yellowheels.com, showcases her powers in watercolor, oils, and various types of printmaking.

Below are some of my favorites:

S+B+L: the beans

another work............
I really like the sobbing mother, sometimes things just crack me up.

Given the "beans" title I think most people with a thinking heart and a beating brain can figure out what this is about. And the neighbors are leaving for Queens.

if you are bewildered as to what this is all about, read these two previous posts, the first one:
slugs + bugs + lullabies

The Slideshow

For those who'd like to see, our amazing photographer, Gary Ventura, put together a little slide show of a scant fraction of the pictures he took for our wedding.

Enjoy it!

S+B+L: a test piece

From now to whenever, whenever I post about the album art for AP's Slugs and Bugs and Lullabies, I'll probably title it something like the above. Or something.

Anycase, here's the test piece I pulled up this afternoon:

Notice the title font... *wink wink*

My good friend and former roommate, Ben Kammer has a new blog.
Ben, and his writing, constantly amazes me.
