Great work Cory - really sensitive, really fun!
I love that little bug listening to the music. How do you do your shading, is it just pencil?
just pencil. a bic 0.7mm mechanical pencil. i break pencils fast i guess i draw to hard, so the clicking mechanical ones keep things going better than if i had to always be stopping to cut a new one w/ an exacto-knife or a pencil sharpener.
Great pieces. Though I'm wondering about the second one. Is he in trouble, or just bored, and what does the monster represent play? Really interesting, lots of ways to interpret I guess.:)=
the first line of the song is "For Elias, the boy who was bored."so yeah. It's more like "don't play." all the fun is broken.boohoo.
wow - very good drawingselegant style - I like them a lot!

WOW!! THese are awesome, love the style!
Love that snail… I had one as a pet, for a day, had to give it up since it left unseemly trails on highly polished wood. Ah. All of your illustrations are fantastic, and they do make one smile.
