Illustration Friday: "Spring"

Sort of feels like spring. Bright and not really cold, or whatever.
It's a good time to trade a bowl of soup for a birthright anyway.

Genesis, chapter 25:
v.24
And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb. 25 And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau. 26 And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau’s heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them. 27 And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents. 28 And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.

29 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint: 30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom. 31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. 32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? 33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. 34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.

Arrived

I dragged into the studio around 10 AM. Last night I worked into the wee hours (only fell deeds and no sleep occur after 1:30 AM) on a job, so I did what everyone needs to do, and sleep late on Monday. I trugded into the studio, blinking. And I saw the Project Manager of Portland Studios, Jamin Jantz, cavorting around wildly with a large brown box.

These sorts of things need never be seen before noon on a cold, March morn.

I stand with my coat collar turned up seeking vainly to deflect the chill winds, cheeks flushed with the cold, brain a-skew, and I say to this dancing man, "Jamin, what are you doing."

To which he replies, "A box! A box of Landon Snow 2 just arrived!"
To which I reply, "Joy!"

the box on my desk...

Illustration Friday: "Feet" [musical edit]

Many feet tall. Atleast 30 feet. Maybe 40.

Landon Snow and the Shadows of Malus Quidam

Book 2! Recently released, Landon Snow and the Shadows of Malus Quidam.

It's the sequel to Landon Snow and the Auctor's Riddle, the first book in the series. Auctor's Riddle has done very well for itself keeping in the top 10 CBA Children's Books (at the top of the top 10 is Lewis' The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.)

From the publisher:
Landon Snow is heading into the darkness, hot on the trail of his younger sister Holly who has set off on a mission of her own. Emerging in the magical realm of Wonderwood, Landon discovers that Holly has been kidnapped by shadowy wolf-like creatures. With the help of his old friends-a horse named Melech, elfish Odds, and the poet/prophet Vates-Landon learns what he needs to do to set his sister free. But he'll need lots of courage. Will Landon be able to rescue Holly from the shadows of darkness and free the Odds from Malus Quidam's evil power?

Not sure if I'd want to fight this Malus Quidam. I drew him and he's scary.
