Fraggle, character studies/gifts

Whenever I have a project I've particularly enjoyed I like to send a gift to the client, usually some piece of the job, be it a early drawing or a whole new piece. Just something to commemorate the occasion. I love the work I get to do and good clients are awesome and need to be taken care of.

A few months ago I got a dream job. I got to do some work for the Jim Henson Co. I was asked to illustrate a 6 page story in the upcoming volume of the new Fraggle Rock comics.

Needless to say the experience was awesome and I can honestly say that I enjoyed every moment of working on it. I cannot wait to show it to you guys.

But,

until then (I'm not sure when it comes out) we'll have to make do with the gifts I sent to Tim Beedle, the editor and Joe LeFavi, the writer.

(I added the "Cory Godbey" down there for these jpgs.
Yes, I signed them for real before I sent them.)

Tim and Joe got the original character drawings for Gobo and Boober, these were part of the sample character art I had to turn in to be approved by Henson in the first place. I wish I had snapped pictures of these in the mats because they looked pretty good. But I'm stupid and forgot to do that before I mailed them out.

So, until next time, stay Fraggle.

I mean, dance your cares away.

Gee, these look familiar....

So looking forward to the finished comics! I'm sure the writer & editor opened their mailbox and were like "Oh look, a postcard from Uncle Traveling Matt!"

Man Cory. That's awesome! I used to work for them and this summer went out to visit the studio and an old friend there in LA and they gave my son one of the comics. He is mad for it! Good on you! Please let us know when it comes out so we can buy one.
